Summer Programs


Meredith-Dunn School’s Summer Academic Support Program offers programs designed to remediate, develop, maintain, and enrich skills of students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.  In existence since 1974, these programs are offered to students who do not attend Meredith-Dunn School as well as those who do attend throughout the school year.


For those students who need basic reinforcement Meredith-Dunn School’s Summer Program is an excellent opportunity for reinforcement of skills in all academic areas.  Designed for children completing Kindergarten through 5th grade, the program offers:

  • Small Classes, flexibility in curriculum and innovative teaching
  • Oral reading, phonics, reading comprehension
  • Organizational and study skills
  • Written expression and language mechanics
  • Auditory and visual perceptual processing skill training
  • Language of math work problems, math reasoning, and math computation.

Sessions begin  June 19, 2017 and last through July 7, 2017, as follows:

Module #1 – Reading & Writing – Meets 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m – Cost $450.00

This module addresses decoding, comprehension, fluency, sentence structure, paragraph formation and using the writing process.

Module #2 – Math – Meets 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Cost $450.00

This module includes basic number sense, language of math, time & money, word problems and fractions/decimals.

Meredith-Dunn School offers a series of workshops specifically designed for middle school students.  The goal is to help students develop a better understanding of strategies for learning and how to apply those in the class and at home.  Our experienced faculty will teach skills and concepts that are useful to all students.  Sessions include:

Study Skills/Organization sessions utilize graphic organizers and study guides, focus on test-taking skills, organizing time, materials and space, develop auditory and visual strategies, and note-taking skills.  Workshop teachers will also teach techniques for surveying and skimming a textbook and underlining and highlighting written material.

Date:  June 19th thru June 30th, 2017

Time:  10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Cost:  $300 per two-week session
