For admission to Meredith-Dunn School, the student must have documentation that supports the presence of specific learning disabilities and/or other learning differences that have impeded academic achievement that is commensurate with the student’s determined ability level. A current psycho-educational assessment is required to establish that a discrepancy between the student’s ability and academic achievement is primarily the result of these learning difficulties and not the direct result of other handicapping conditions. The admission procedures require that the admission committee review the student’s current testing information, previous teacher questionnaires and the client history form. A personal interview with the parents is also conducted. After the Admissions Office has considered all required information and a determination has been made that Meredith-Dunn School can reasonably expect to meet the needs of the student, parents are notified of their child’s acceptance to the program. In order to facilitate the student’s adjustment to our school, each new student is scheduled to shadow. At times, students elect to attend our summer school session to better facilitate this adjustment.

Application to Meredith-Dunn School may be made at any time, but due to our limited enrollment, early application is advised. Students are accepted contingent upon a space availabilty.
